Patrick Russell Gibbons, educator and poet, has been a prominent figure in poetry circles in Northern Virginia and Washington, D.C. A native of Illinois, he earned masters degrees in English literature and in linguistics from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. He received an undergraduate degree in philosophy and English literature from Illinois College in Jacksonville, where he graduated with high honors and was awarded membership to Phi Beta Kappa. 

Patrick has written self-study curricula on a wide range of academic, functional, and vocational subjects. He has worked in education in Louisiana, Texas, Saudi Arabia, Washington, D.C., and San Francisco. He assisted in editing Laura Qa's collection of poetry, Tribute to the Hound (1995, Red Dragon Press). He presently lives and works in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
